About Dan

Hi, I’m Dan Roberts.

I’m an identity coach, founder of SessionOne and author of The Origin of Your Love.

For more than a decade, I’ve worked with people through change and transformation.

I’ve coached leaders inside some of Australia’s largest organisations, supported women through major life transitions on retreats in the Philippines, run men’s circles in Melbourne, and facilitated personal exploration and development in Colombia.

Across these very different environments, I’ve seen the same patterns emerge.

People who are incredibly capable and successful, yet struggle with self-doubt, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or the constant pressure to achieve. People who know something needs to change but keep finding themselves repeating the same behaviours.

I’ve experienced this in my own life.

For years, I believed I had moved beyond the experiences of my childhood. I’d built a successful career, travelled the world and even opened a night club in Mexico. Yet, when I looked at my relationships, I kept finding myself in the same painful patterns.

I was putting other people’s needs before my own, trying to earn love through pleasing and giving, and at other times protecting myself by creating distance.

It wasn’t until I began to understand my own Never Ending Story that I started to recognise and change the patterns keeping me stuck.

What I’ve learnt is that the beliefs we hold about ourselves shape far more of our lives than we realise.

They influence how we feel, how we respond to challenges, the relationships we form, the decisions we make and the behaviours we repeat.

I’ve seen people sacrifice their wellbeing, relationships and the things they value most in pursuit of success, love or acceptance, without recognising that the beliefs driving them are creating the very reality they’re trying to escape.

This is why I do the work I do.

I work with people who have reached a point where they know something needs to change. Together, we uncover the beliefs driving their emotional responses and behaviours, recognise the patterns keeping them stuck and practise making different choices.

Because understanding yourself is only the beginning. Real change happens when you start responding differently.

Understand who you learned to be. Choose who you become.
